Gen-Z youth in Uttar Pradesh held a torchlight rally supporting the Yogi Adityanath-led government over the ‘I love Muhammed’ row, chanting “UP Police, use force, we are with you.”
The video is unrelated and from Jaipur, Rajasthan. It shows a procession organised by politician Naresh Meena’s supporters and the slogan was edited into the video separately.
A video claims to show Gen-Z youth in Uttar Pradesh leading a torchlight rally in support of the “I Love Mahadev” campaign and the Yogi Adityanath-led government. The crowd can be heard chanting: “UP Police tum lath bajao, hum tumhare saath hain” (UP Police, use force, we are with you).

The viral video gained traction after the ‘I Love Muhammad’ protest following Friday prayers in Bareilly, Uttar Pradesh, on September 26, escalated into violent clashes, including stone-pelting, scuffles, and a police lathi-charge. In this charged atmosphere, which also saw counter-campaigns with “I Love Mahadev” posters, social media users shared the video to suggest Hindu youths being mobilised in support of the government.
Google Lens search of keyframes led to the same clip uploaded on YouTube and Instagram, describing it as a torchlight procession by politician Naresh Meena’s supporters in Jaipur, Rajasthan.
Using Google Maps Street View, landmarks visible in the video such as Kamala Tower and a Lenskart store were identified on Gopalpura Bypass Road, Jaipur, confirming the location.
Upon reviewing Naresh Meena’s social media accounts, we located a recorded Facebook Live video dated September 25, which shows scenes identical to those in the viral video.

NDTV Rajasthan, Rajasthan Patrika, and Navbharat Times all reported on the torchlight procession in Jaipur on September 25.
The rally was organised by supporters of Naresh Meena, who had been on a 14-day hunger strike, demanding justice for families of children killed in the Piplodi school tragedy in Jhalawar. Thousands participated, marching from Triveni Nagar Square to Gurjar Ki Thadi in Jaipur.
Upon reviewing the live videos shared on Naresh Meena’s and Punjab Kesari Rajasthan’s Facebook pages, the slogan “UP Police, use force, we are with you” was not heard anywhere in them.
During the investigation, we found the same slogan in a video posted on an X account, where a person can be seen chanting it. Our investigation identified this individual as Deepak Sharma. This chanting was also reported by NDTV.
This audio was then edited and added to the Jaipur procession video before being circulated on social media.
