The viral video shows celebrations in Mumbai after India’s 2025 Women’s World Cup win.
The clip is actually from Kolhapur, recorded during India’s 2024 T20 World Cup celebrations.
Harmanpreet Kaur-led Team India clinched their maiden ICC Women’s Cricket World Cup title on Sunday (November 2, 2025), defeating South Africa in the final, a moment that sparked nationwide joy and pride.
Soon after, a video claiming to show massive celebrations in Mumbai following India’s win began circulating on social media.

However, multiple social media posts from June 2024 show that the same clip actually captured celebrations in Kolhapur after India’s T20 World Cup victory. Google Maps verification also confirmed the location as Kolhapur, Maharashtra.
Notably, the same footage had previously been falsely linked to RCB’s maiden IPL win and was debunked by Newschecker on June 5, 2025. The same can be seen here.
