A further search led us to this Youtube video by The HFF News, dated October 18, 2022, where the viral excerpt can be seen from 03:45 mark. A similar News18 UP Uttarakhand report can be seen here, dated October 17, 2022, stating in Hindi, “The mortal remains of former Uttar Pradesh CM Mulayam Singh Yadav were immersed in Haridwar today. Akhilesh Yadav immersed Netaji’s ashes at Namami Gange Ghat with full rituals…”.

“The ashes of Samajwadi Party founder and former Uttar Pradesh chief minister Mulayam Singh Yadav were immersed in the Ganga here [Haridwar] on Monday. His son and party chief Akhilesh Yadav daughter in-law Dimple Yadav, Ram Gopal Yadav and Dharmendra Yadav were present for the immersion of his ashes. The ashes were immersed at the Namami Gange Ghat as the closure of the upper Ganga canal has caused the level of water at Har Ki Paidi to drop considerably. The Yadav family members also took a dip in the Ganga after immersing the ashes,” read a Daily Pioneer report, dated October 18, 2022. The 82-year-old SP founder died in Gurugram’s Medanta Hospital on October 10, 2022. Similar reports can be seen here, here and here, confirming that the viral video is not from the ongoing Mahakumbh Mela.
