Fact Check
A video circulating on social media claims to show a massive road collapse in Mumbai’s Bandra Kurla Complex (BKC).
Newschecker received the video on its WhatsApp tipline (+91-9999499044), requesting to be fact checked.

A reverse image search of keyframes from the viral video led to a report published by The Independent on September 24, 2025.
The report carried the same footage, stating:
“A 50 metre-deep sinkhole opened in front of a Bangkok hospital early on Wednesday, sucking in cars and electricity poles… linked to construction of a nearby underground railway station.” It added that the local Thai authorities had closed roads around Vajira Hospital on Samsen Road, evacuating nearby residents as the crater expanded to about 30×30 metres wide and 50 metres deep.
Multiple outlets such as this, this and this reported on the incident.

A recent report by The Nation Thailand stated that reopening of traffic near the sinkhole was postponed until the demolition of the Samsen Police Station was completed.
Geo-verification using Google Maps and keyword searches for “Vajira Hospital” and “Bangkok” matched the visuals in the viral video, confirming the location beyond doubt.

Hence, we could conclude the viral video does not show a road collapse in Mumbai’s BKC. It shows a massive sinkhole in Bangkok, Thailand.
