Media Outlets Share Old, Unrelated Footage As Video Of India Intercepting Pak Attack On Jaisalmer

 Video shows India intercepting Pakistan attack on Jaisalmer on May 8, 2025.

New majors such as NDTV Profit, One India, Amar Ujala Rajasthan, Aaj Tak and Times Now also shared the visuals in their on the recent India-Pakistan escalations.

A reverse image search on the keyframes on the viral clip led us to a YouTube video by @1min4ucollection, dated May 19, 2021. It featured the same clip, confirming that it is old and unrelated to the recent escalations between India and Pakistan.

We then checked the same on Yandex  which yielded a YouTube video by @NSFchannel, dated May 11, 2021, titled ‘Israel Iron Dome in action *Recorded Alarm*’.  Carrying the same footage, it stated, “Rare footage of Israel’s Iron Dome defense system intercepting rockets over Ashkelon, a civilian city in southern Israel.” Adding that it was recorded on May 10, 2021 and Xiaomi Poco F2 Pro was to capture the footage. 

A comparison between the keyframes of the viral clip and the YouTube video can be seen below 

The channel also featured other videos from the same location identifying them to be from Israel’s Ashkelon. 

The Indian air defence systems intercepted multiple Pakistani drones over the border city of Jaisalmer on Thursday night (May 8). “Drone debris was found at night in Jaisalmer, suspected to be of Pakistani origin. The wreckage was located and collected by an Indian Air Force team early in the morning,” reported CNN-News18.

We were not independently able to ascertain other details about the viral clip. However, it dates back to May 2021 and does not show India intercepting Pakistan’s recent attack on Jaisalmer.
