Fact Check
Video shows a location in India engulfed by fire following a recent attack by Pakistan.
Users further alleged that the video shows Pakistan’s attack on India’s Udhampur Airbase, while others claimed it to be visuals of destruction for Gujarat Airbase.
Such posts can be seen here, here and here.
A Google Lens search on the viral clip yielded a report by news agency ANI, dated March 28, 2025. Carrying an image from the same location as seen in the now viral clip, the report elaborated on the violence in Nepal during the pro-monarchy protest.
A comparison between the keyframes of the viral clip and ANI image can be seen below.
We also found a Facebook post by Legal Nepal, dated March 28, 2025, carrying visuals from the same location as seen in the viral footage. In one such photo, we spotted ‘जडीबुटी उत्पादन तथा प्रशोधन कम्पनी’ (Herbs Production & Processing Company) written on the hoarding.
Using this as a clue, we looked up “Herbs Production & Processing Co.” and “Nepal” on Google, and were able to geo-locate the spot seen in the viral footage in Kathmandu.
Multiple others on March 28-29, 2025 reported on violence in Nepal during a protest seeking restoration of monarchy.
Hence, we could conclude that an old video from Nepal has been falsely shared to show the aftermath of Pakistan’s attack on India.
