No, This Video Does Not Show Indian Soldiers At Siachen Glacier

Claim

A video showing mountaineers trekking through densely snow-covered mountains is being shared online with the claim that it shows Indian Army personnel braving extreme conditions at the Siachen Glacier.

Fact

A reverse image search on keyframes from the viral clip led to a Facebook post by Kazakhstan-based outlet BAQ.KZ, dated November 13, 2025. Carrying the same footage, the post stated that Kazakh citizen Galymzhan Kusapanov conquered the world’s seven highest volcanoes. It further added that his final destination was the Orizaba volcano in Mexico, where he unfurled the national flag of Kazakhstan despite facing adverse weather conditions.

Another Kazakhstan-based outlet, Elorda Media, shared the same footage on November 15, 2025, corroborating the claim by stating, “Kazakhstani climber and traveler Galymzhan Kuspanov has completed the international project ‘7 Volcanoes’, becoming the 67th person in the world to climb the highest volcanoes on the planet and the first Kazakh to achieve this milestone.”

The post also tagged the official account of climber Galymzhan Kuspanov. We examined the tagged account and found that the footage was first shared by @klub_7_vershin on November 12, 2025, with the caption, “This isn’t AI. This is our team at Pico Orizaba in Mexico.” Galymzhan Kuspanov himself shared the same footage on November 26, 2025.

The 7 Summits Club also congratulated him for successfully completing the Seven Volcanoes programme.

Hence, we find that an old video from Mexico is being falsely shared to show Indian soldiers braving harsh weather at the Siachen glacier.
