A viral video allegedly shows RSS Chief Mohan Bhagwat calling for the “saffronisation” of the Indian Army and demanding the removal of over 50% “non-caste Hindus” by 2028.
Mohan Bhagwat made no such statement. Video found to be doctored.
A video circulating on social media platforms claims that RSS Chief Mohan Bhagwat demanded the “saffronisation” of the Indian Army. In the video, he is purportedly heard saying, “…I have clearly said that if you do not remove more than 50% non-caste Hindus from the Indian Army by 2028, then understand that Modi will go and Yogi will come…” Newschecker, however, found the video to be doctored.

A keyword search on Google using terms such as “Mohan Bhagwat Indian Army saffronisation” did not yield any credible media reports, official statements, or archival records supporting the viral claim.
A reverse image search of keyframes from the clip using Google Lens led to a YouTube video published by CNN-News18, whose watermark is seen in the viral footage, dated December 21, 2025. It featured Bhagwat wearing the same attire and speaking against the same backdrop as seen in the viral clip. A thorough review of the full video, however, revealed no mention of the remarks attributed to him in the viral content.

The live streaming of Bhagwat’s address aired by ANI on December 21, 2025 did not show him making the alleged remarks as well.
A closer analysis of the viral clip revealed that the audio sounded unnatural and inconsistent with Mohan Bhagwat’s known speech patterns, tone, and cadence.
To verify this, the audio was analysed using multiple AI-detection tools:

False claims around the “saffronisation” of the Indian Army have frequently surfaced online, often pushed by pro-Pakistan social media handlers using edited or manipulated videos of senior Indian defence officials and political leaders.
