A video claiming to show a Pakistan MP dancing to a remix of Akshay Kumar and Raveena Tandon’s original famous number ‘tip tip barsa paani’ is being shared widely on Twitter. Several users shared the video of a man dancing at what appears to be a wedding function, claiming to show Pakistan MP Aamir Liaquat Hussain. Newschecker has found that the man in question is not the Pakistani MP dancing but a famous choreographer.
Delhi based journalist Aman Malik was among those who shared the video claiming to show a ‘Pakistan MP dancing’. The tweet has received over 500 retweets and 4,000 likes.
Several other users also shared the same video claiming that it showed the Pakistan MP dancing.
The video has gone viral on social media forcing several publications to fact check the video.
Who is Aamir Liaquat Hussain?
Aamir Liaquat Hussain, a Pakistani television host and politician has been a member of the National Assembly of Pakistan since August 2018. Hussain had earlier stoked controversy after his ‘nagin dance’ on Pakistan reality TV show Jeeway Pakistan went viral.
The video claiming to show a Pakistan MP dancing was originally posted by user @taimoorze which was shared by Aman Malik and several others. It must be noted that @taimoorze has not made any such assertion, but has just shared the video with the caption ‘tip tip barsa pani’-the title of the Bollywood number.
When Newschecker checked the comment section of the post by @taimoorze, we came across a comment by user @_safiamahmood that identified the man dancing as choreographer Shoaib Shakoor.
Another user @Sherazakhtar08 posted the Instagram page of Shoaib Shakoor, which led Newschecker to the same video posted on January 4. Newschecker also searched Facebook for ‘@Shoaibshakoor’ and found the same video posted on the page of HS studios.
The video claiming to show Aamir Liaquat Hussain, Pakistan MP dancing is that of choreographer Shoaib Shakoor.
