Fact

Newschecker first ran a reverse image search of keyframes of the video, which led us to this May 16, 2021 tweet, sharing the same video. A longer version of the video was also uploaded on Youtube on May 20, 2021.

A relevant keyword search led us to a Reuters photograph, dated May 15, 2021, stating, “Demonstrators gather during a protest to express solidarity with the Palestinian people, in Adaisseh village near the Lebanese-Israeli border, southern Lebanon.”

The photograph shows people climbing the wall with the large building in the background, as seen in the viral clip (left) and the Youtube video (right). Another Reuters photograph on the same date and showing the same location states, “Demonstrators climb a border wall during a protest to express solidarity with the Palestinian people, in Adaisseh village near the Lebanese-Israeli border, southern Lebanon.”

We also came across several news reports, seen here and here, from May 2021, stating that protesters were hurt along the Lebanon-Israel Border following a march in Beirut, Lebanon’s capital. “Protesters scale and attach Palestinian and Lebanese Hezbollah movement flags to the Lebanon-Israel border wall during a demonstration to show solidarity with Palestinians on May 16 in Adaisseh, Lebanon,” read a caption to a photograph in a Newsweek report, dated May 19, 2021.
