Video Showing Muslim Woman Being Forced To Lie In Muck To Conceive Is Scripted

A Muslim woman was forced to lie in a dirty pool by her in-laws so that she is able to conceive.

Fact
The claim is false. It is a scripted video, and does not show any actual incident.

A disturbing video of two men rescuing a woman who was forced to lie in a dirty pool by her in-laws to conceive, has been being widely shared on social media platforms. Those sharing the video have given it a communal twist, and claimed that it shows a Muslim woman was forcefully immersed in the pool by her mother-in-law and husband for six days, so that she is able to bear a child. Newschecker found the claim to be untrue. The video does not show any actual incident.

Multiple Facebook users shared the nearly ten-minute-long-video with similar claims. A shorter version of the clip has also been posted on X.

Fact Check/Verification

We noticed a tab below multiple Facebook posts carrying the video that read “Watch more original videos by: Ankur Jatuskaran”

Taking a clue, we looked up the Facebook account of Ankur Jatuskaran, who identified himself as a “video creator.”

We skimmed through Jatuskaran’s profile and found that the viral footage was uploaded on December 16, 2022 with the caption, “Is Behan Ko Baccha Lo

Around 30 seconds into the video, we spotted a disclaimer stating, “The content made in this video should be considered for entertainment purpose only, information contained herein is not intended to be source of advice or credit analysis with respect to the information presented, any action you take inspiring from this video is strictly at your own risk…,” confirming that the video does not show any actual incident.

We found several such “entertainment only” videos shared on Jatuskaran’s profile, like this and this.

Another “work of fiction” video on similar lines as the viral footage was also uploaded on the account on July 28, 2023.

Conclusion

Viral post claiming to show the rescue of a Muslim woman who was forced to lie in a dirty pool by her in-laws so that she is able to conceive is false.
