A Google lens search on the billboard section seen in the viral photo led us to an X post by @Amul_Coop, dated January 24, 2019. It carried a similar topical showing caricatures of Priyanka and Rahul Gandhi. However, text overlay in the same read, “Family Stree! Amul of Bhais and Behens.”

The same also featured in the official website of Amul, stating “Priyanka Gandhi joins politics!.” A report by Indian Express, dated January 24, 2019, also detailed the Amul cartoon marking Priyanka Gandhi’s entry into politics as the AICC general secretary for Uttar Pradesh East.

We also found a photograph similar to the viral image listed on a website “Event Media & Promotion.” On comparing both the images, we found them to be identical except for the advertisement displayed on the board.

Furthermore,  we noticed the watermark of one “Ratnesh” (रतनेश) on the billboard seen in the viral photo, indicating that it was likely edited by a person by the same name.

Hence, the viral photo allegedly showing an Amul illustration attacking Gandhi family is edited.
