Viral ‘Speeches’ By Barack Obama Praising India Are AI-Generated

Two separate videos, allegedly showing former US President Barack Obama praising India for protecting its sovereignty and claiming that the world fears the rise of “new giant” India, have gone viral on social media.

A keyword search found no credible news reports or official records of Obama ever making such statements. Closer investigation revealed that both viral clips are AI-generated deepfakes.

Video 1

• Segments of the audio were tested on Hiya Deepfake Voice Detector, which marked them as “likely deepfake.”

• Another tool, Resemble AI, also flagged the voice as “fake.”
  
• The video was uploaded on September 2, 2025, to a YouTube channel named barack obama motivate (@barackobamamotivate-s2g).
  
• The description itself admitted the clip contained “altered or synthetic content,” confirming the statements were falsely attributed to Obama.

Video 2

• On inspecting the YouTube link mentioned in the viral posts, we were directed to a post by The Global Updates (@TheGlobalUpdates1), uploaded on August 30, 2025.
  
• Its description also clarified that the audio was “altered or synthetic content.”

• Audio tested on Hive Moderation showed a 70.9% probability of being a deepfake.
  
• Checks with Hiya Deepfake Voice Detector again flagged the speech as “likely deepfake.”

• Resemble AI confirmed the audio was “fake.”

Newschecker has previously debunked several AI-generated audios of international figures, including Tesla CEO Elon Musk, Chinese entrepreneur Jack Ma, and British journalist Piers Morgan, falsely praising India.

Such clips often originate from YouTube channels that openly label them as “synthetic” in their descriptions, but when reshared on social media, the disclaimers are omitted, misleading viewers.
