AI/Deepfake
A six-second video claiming to show a bridge collapsing in Bihar.
The archived version of the post can be seen here.
Newschecker noticed the blurry texture of the video, along with inconsistencies in the clarity at certain points, raising doubts about whether the clip was AI-generated. Moreover, we did not find any such video shared by major media outlets, amid reports of multiple bridges collapsing in India, including in Bihar, over the past few months.
Screengrab of the video, where the white SUV and road appear to be overly smooth in texture, considering the resultant debris from the purported bridge collapse.
A further search led us to a clearer version of the video shared on Facebook by a gaming video creator on July 15, stating that it was made with AI.
We then ran the video past Hive Moderation, an AI-content detection tool, which found it 99.9% likely to contain AI-generated or deepfake content.
