Claim
MP High Court Judge reprimanding advocate Gayasuddin for misconduct during hearing a plea against a Bageshwar Dham event.
Fact
Viral video is from 2023 and the lawyer in the video is identified to be GS Uddey, and not Gayasuddin.
A video purportedly showing a judge reprimanding a lawyer for misconduct during a hearing in a court is being widely shared on social media platforms. Those who shared the footage claimed that Justice Vivek Agarwal chastised counsel “Gayasuddin,” who users allege had filed a petition against an event by Bageshwar Dham in Madhya Pradesh High Court, for his “rude language.” The insinuation is that “Gayasuddin”, is a Muslim, and is anti-Hindu.
Multiple X users posted the two-minute-nine-second-long-video claiming, “Advocate Gayasuddin filed a PIL in Jabalpur High Court to ban Baba Bageshwar’s Katha. Hon’ble Justice Vivek Agarwal ji got angry with Gayasuddin’s rude language, and explained to Gayasuddin properly in Hindi…”

Fact Check/Verification
We carefully analysed the viral footage, and found the lawyer identifying himself as one “GS Uddey.” The same can be clearly heard around 1:57 minutes in a slowed down version of the viral video.
Taking a clue, we looked up keywords “GS Uddey,” Bageshwar Dham” and “Justice Vivek Agarwal” on YouTube which yielded a longer version of the same hearing posted by Navbharat Times on May 23, 2023.

At the counters of 12:48 minutes, the Judge is again heard asking the lawyer his name. The conversation between the two is detailed below
Justice Agarwal : Tell your good name again.
Lawyer: GS Uddey
Justice Agarwal: Shri GS
Lawyer : Uddey
Justice Agarwal : Uddey for the petitioner…
We also found the final order by the MP High Court on the petition, dated May 22, 2023, which too listed G.S. Uddey as the advocate for the petitioners. The matter relates to a petition filed at the Jabalpur bench of the Madhya Pradesh High Court against an event by Dhirendra Shastri of Bageshwar Dham on the ground that it would hurt the sentiments of the tribal communities.
