Viral Video Showing Lahore ‘Unscathed By Indian Strikes’ Is Old

A current video showing illuminated buildings, regular vehicular movement in Pakistan’s Lahore proves that the city remained unharmed in recent strikes by India.

A Google Lens search on the keyframes of the viral clip led us to a Facebook post by @voiceofsouthpunjab786, dated February 8, 2025. It featured the same video, captioned “Liberty Round About Lahore”, confirming that it does not showcase the city’s situation amid recent India-Pakistan conflict. 

Further, the video was also shared on Facebook by ‘Lahore City Punjab’ on January 26, 2025, corroborating that it is from the Liberty round about. Other posts from January 2025 displaying the same video can be seen here and here. 

We were able to geo-locate the spot seen in the viral clip in Lahore itself. However, it dates back to at least January 2025, and does not show Lahore illuminated amid recent escalations between New Delhi and Islamabad. 

Air Defence System At Lahore Neutralised

Pakistan attempted to strike at military targets in Northern and Western India during the intervening night of May 7-8, which were neutralised by the Integrated Counter UAS Grid and Air Defence systems. Responding to the same, the Indian Armed Forces on May 8 “Air Defence Radars and systems at a number of locations in Pakistan. Indian response has been in the same domain with the same intensity,” the government said in a release.

Hence, the viral posts claiming to show Lahore unscathed by Indian strikes were found to be false.
