Newschecker ran a keyword search for “Rajya Sabha Waqf bill”, which led us to multiple news reports, seen here, here, and here, from mainstream outlets, stating that the Joint Parliamentary Committee (JPC) report on the Waqf (Amendment) bill, which aims to streamline registration of Waqf properties, was tabled in both Houses of the Parliament on Thursday (February 13).

“The JPC report’s presentation was followed by uproar and sloganeering in the Upper House of the Parliament, leading to the adjournment of the session till 11:20am. When the session resumed, it was yet again disrupted by protesting MPs from the Opposition parties,” read an Economic Times report, dated February 13, 2025.
We learnt that Lok Sabha proceedings were adjourned till March 10, bringing the first part of the Budget Session to a close on Thursday. The day reportedly saw massive uproar in both Houses after the JPC, set up to scrutinise the Waqf (Amendment) Bill, tabled its report, with Opposition members accusing the government of removing their dissenting notes. The second part of the Parliament Budget Session will be held from March 10 to April 4, after the initial phase began on January 31. The second leg of the Budget Session is anticipated to be contentious with the government expected to push for the passage of key legislation, including the Waqf (Amendment) Bill, which further confirms that as of February 14, the bill has not been passed by the Parliament.
