Fact Check
This week social media platforms witnessed a majority of politics and religion-related fake and misleading claims being circulated. From an edited image of Rana Ayyub shared to disinform, misleading claims related to Muslims and France amid heightened racial tensions to Bihar elections-related claims.
Rana Ayyub did not make the statement on “just two beheading.” An image from CNN’s segment in March 2020 has been edited to spread disinformation.
The video is from 2017 when French officials & residents of a Paris suburb tried to block Muslims from praying in the street.
It is evident from our research that an old image of PM Narendra Modi’s Patna rally during 2019 Lok Sabha elections has gone in association with 2020 Bihar elections.
The claim by individuals and certain media organisations is misleading. In reality, opposition members at the National Assembly of Pakistan chanted “voting! voting!”
The video shows Prophet Muhammad’s birth anniversary celebrations in Sana’a, Yemen in November 2019.
