As protests against the Iran government’s hijab rules continue to rage, spilling over from Iran to several other parts of the world, social media users in India are sharing the video of a young woman protesting topless, addressing a crowd, purportedly in Iran. Users sharing the video drew comparison between the ‘Iranian woman protesting naked’ and the Indian Muslim women who insisted on wearing a the hijab. Read more here

The thrill-filled South Africa’s tour of India has kept the cricket fans occupied over the past couple of weeks. Protean batsman David Miller amassed social media and news outlets’ attention the previous week after he smashed 106 runs in just 47 balls. Now, the South African cricketer is making headlines again, after a social media post where he paid an emotional tribute to “little rockstar.” Miller shared a video featuring a series of photographs of him with a young girl with the caption “RIP you little rockstar…Love you always!”. Gujarat has become one of the most politically charged places in the country, with high-profile politicians – from PM Modi to Delhi CM Kejriwal- touring the state to garner public support ahead of the assembly elections. PM Modi recently concluded a three-day-tour of the state, during which he addressed a number of rallies and roadshows and inaugurated several development projects. It is in this backdrop that a video is going viral on social media platforms, showing vacant chairs at what appears to be a public rally venue, while the PM’s speech is being telecasted in the background.
