Crowd Of 1.5 Lakh Chanted Hanuman Chalisa At  World Cup Finals? Edited Video Viral With False Claim

Several social media users shared a video, purportedly showing around 1.5 lakh people chanting the Hanuman Chalisa during the ICC men’s World Cup final between India and Australia, which was held at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad on November 19, 2023. Newschecker found the video was doctored. The original video shows Darshan Rawal performing at the final, over which Hanuman Chalisa was overlaid.

5-Year-Old Video Goes Viral Ahead Of 2023 Telangana Assembly Elections

Several social media users circulated a video, including Andhra Pradesh’s BJP state vice-president, purportedly showing Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) leader and Jubilee Hills MLA Maganti Gopinath being questioned by woman voters over “neglecting public issues”, during campaigning in Telangana for the upcoming Assembly elections on November 30. Newschecker found the video dates back to November 2018 and the incident happened during campaigning for the 2018 state elections.

Following Australia’s victory over India in Cricket World Cup, a statement to former Australian cricketer Ricky Ponting was widely circulated on social media. The message suggested that Ponting referred to Australia’s win as a triumph against the “cricket mafia,” asserting that despite India’s substantial financial and influential resources, they were unable to secure the World Cup. Newschecker found that the viral quote was fabricated.

No, Rahul Gandhi Did Not Insult Bharat Mata In His Speech, Clipped  Video Viral With False Claim

A video of Congress MP Rahul Gandhi went viral on social media, in which he is seen asking people the meaning of Bharat Mata during what appears to be a public rally. The video is being shared on social media with the claim that “Rahul Gandhi’s hate towards PM Modi has turned into hate towards Bharat!”. Newschecker found that the video has been clipped and shared out of context.

Video Compilation Claiming To Show Recent Downpour In Dubai Is Old & Unrelated

A three-minute video, comprising several clips of waterlogged roads and thunderstorms, went viral on Whatsapp with users claiming it purportedly shows the heavy rainfall and floods that recently lashed parts of the United Arab Emirates, mainly Dubai.  Newschecker found that the compilation comprised old and unrelated visuals.
