Several social media users shared a video, claiming it showed Italian PM Giorgia Meloni’s message of support for Hindus ahead of the Ram Mandir consecration ceremony in Ayodhya on January 22, 2024. Newschecker found that the video was mistranslated and actually showed Meloni thanking her supporters for wishing her on her birthday.

Visuals From 2023 Puri Rath Yatra Falsely Shared As Rahul Gandhi’s 2024 Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra

Several Congress-linked Twitter handles shared a video, claiming it showed large crowds gathering for Rahul Gandhi’s Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra in Nagaland. Newschecker found that the visuals claimed to be of Gandhi’s Nyay Yatra were actually from the Puri Rath Yatra last year.

A video of some youths being thrashed and detained by cops recently went viral on social media. It was claimed that they were the ones who had attacked the Ram Yatra rally in Mumbai’s Mira Road area on January 22, 2024, the day of the temple’s inauguration in Ayodhya. Newschecker found that the video is at least two years old and from Hyderabad, has no connection with the violence on 22nd January 2024 in Mira Road area of Mumbai.

Cropped Photo Of Soldiers Resting Falsely Claimed As ‘Deadliest Israeli Sniper’ Killed By Hamas

Multiple social media users shared a photo claiming it showed Shafas Lavier, the “deadliest sniper in the Israeli Army”, who was killed by Hamas. Newschecker found that the viral image is a cropped photograph of Israeli soldiers resting on a patch of grass at Kibbutz Be’eri, after a mass infiltration by Hamas gunmen from the Gaza Strip, in southern Israel.
