Fact

Newschecker ran a reverse image search of the photo, which led us to this tweet by veteran journalist Sheela Bhatt, dated June 14, 2023, sharing the same image, stating, “Interviewing Dawood Ibrahim in Pearl Building, Dubai.”

According to the tweet thread, Bhatt had taken this interview for the magazines, ‘Abhiyan’ and ‘The Illustrated Weekly’, in 1988. Newschecker also spoke to Shrinate, who said the woman in the photo is Bhatt, while adding that she was only 10 years old when the photo was taken in 1988. We also came across an NDTV news report, dated July 14, 2023, confirming that the throwback picture featured Bhatt and Ibrahim, India’s most wanted.
