Amid reports of violent protests in Bihar, Madhya Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh, Haryana & Rajasthan to oppose the Centre’s new Agnipath scheme, Congress General Secretary Ajay Maken recently said in a press conference that the Agnipath scheme is an insult to the late CDS General Bipin Rawat, citing his stance of raising the retirement age of the soldiers. Ajay Maken said the Agnipath scheme was in complete conflict with the wishes of the late CDS General Bipin Rawat, who died in a helicopter crash on 8th December, 2021.
