In the wake of the multiple cases filed against ex-BJP spokesperson Nupur Sharma for her remarks against Prophet Mohammad, several social media users are sharing a video of a woman being dragged and assaulted in the middle of a milling crowd, claiming it to be a video of Sharma’s arrest. Amid widespread protests against the centre’s ‘Agnipath’ scheme, a video showing a boy driving away a police officer with knives attached to a chain is going viral on social media platforms. Those who shared the clip claim that the video showed an army aspirant attacking the police in Bihar during the protest against new policy for recruitment to the armed forces. Viral Video Does Not Show Army Personnel Refusing To Lathicharge Agnipath Protesters
A 15-second video showing the driver of an army truck shaking hands with a group of people is going viral on social media platforms amid the widespread protests against the centre’s Agnipath scheme. Those who shared the video claim that the “5 trucks” of army personnel refused to lathicharge the protesters even at the cost of their jobs. Newschecker found the claim to be untrue. Saffron-Clad Youth Not Thrashed For Objecting To Headscarf, Viral Video Shared With Communal Claim
With Karnataka’s HC’s decision on barring hijab in educational institutions being challenged in the SC, a new video, showing a woman thrashing a youth donning a saffron scarf is viral. Users sharing the video claim that the youth was being thrashed for objecting to the woman “wearing cloth on her head”. The claim is false, and the incident had nothing to do with the woman wearing a headscarf. Read the full article here.
Did Former CDS General Bipin Rawat Oppose The Agnipath Scheme? Viral Claim Is False
Amid reports of violent protests in Bihar, Madhya Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh, Haryana & Rajasthan to oppose the Centre’s new Agnipath scheme, Congress General Secretary Ajay Maken recently said in a press conference that the Agnipath scheme is an insult to the late CDS General Bipin Rawat, citing his stance of raising the retirement age of the soldiers. Ajay Maken said the Agnipath scheme was in complete conflict with the wishes of the late CDS General Bipin Rawat, who died in a helicopter crash on 8th December, 2021. In light of these events a post is going viral on social media with an image of late CDS General Bipin Rawat along with the claim that he opposed the Government’s Agnipath scheme.
