Natural Intelligence Outsmarts AI? Viral Video Claiming To Show Robot Being Fooled By Human Is Edited

An 18-second amusing video claiming to show a humanoid robot being fooled by a woman who steals its carry bag is doing the rounds of social media with users hailing it as an example of how natural intelligence outshines artificial intelligence (AI).

Fact Check

Newschecker ran a keyword search for “humanoid robot fooled woman”, which did not lead us to any such video, raising our doubts on whether it was edited.

We then ran a reverse image search of keyframes, which led us to this Youtube video, dated March 11, 2024, showing a man being tricked.

A comparison of both the clips, especially the background music, the setting and the people, prove that the viral video has been mirrored, zoomed in and digitally altered by overlaying a CGI humanoid robot onto the victim.
