A viral video shows a leopard chasing a train and attacking a passenger in Amravati.
The video is AI-generated. Multiple visual inconsistencies, AI-detection tools, and an official clarification confirm the clip is fake.
A dramatic video circulating widely on social media platforms claims to show a leopard chasing a train and attacking a passenger in Amravati, Maharashtra, sparking fear and concern among users.
Newschecker received the video multiple times on our WhatsApp tipline (+91-9999499044) requesting to be fact checked.

On closely analysing the video, the leopard’s body appears distorted across multiple frames. In some instances, parts of the animal merge into the background, while in others, sections of its body disappear or appear incompletely formed, anomalies inconsistent with real-world footage.
In the final frames where the leopard is allegedly attacking a passenger, the person’s physical features also appear blurred and distorted, particularly around the hands and limbs.
Several portions of the video display unnatural and selective blurring, further indicating artificial manipulation.

Newschecker checked the video on AI detection tool Sightengine which found a 86% probability of it being AI generated. We also checked the screengrabs from the footage on Undetectable AI which flagged them as likely AI-created.


The Deepfakes Analysis Unit (DAU) of the Trusted Information Alliance (TIA), of which Newschecker is a member, also checked the screengrabs of the video on WasItAI and concluded, “There is some chance that this image, or parts of it, was created by Al.”
They also analysed a screengrab on Image Whisperer which classified it as AI-generated (very high confidence). and Hive AI Image Classifier. which detected a 70% probability of AI generation.


A social media post by NTV News Marathi, dated December 29, 2025, stated, “Video of leopard on railway tracks in Gopal Nagar, Amravati is fake made with the help of AI. The Forest Department clarified that the number of tracks and behavior of wild animals in the video are inconsistent with reality. Rescue squad officer Amol Gavner appeals to citizens to not believe rumours on social media.”
