Viral ‘Rare’ Photo of India’s Top Business Tycoons Is AI-Generated

Claim

A purported old photograph, circulating widely on social media, claims to show India’s top business moguls, including Ratan Tata, Dhirubhai Ambani, Narayana Murthy and others, sitting together and sharing a light moment.

Fact

A Google reverse image search of the viral photograph did not lead to any credible news reports, archival sources, or historical records featuring such a visual.

A closer visual analysis revealed multiple inconsistencies, including distorted playing cards, unnatural detailing in clothing such as the placement of buttons.

Further verification using multiple AI-detection tools confirmed the manipulation: 

• Hive Moderation flagged a 99.9% likelihood of AI-generated or deepfake content.
• Sightengine reported a 99% probability of AI generation.
• Image Whisperer concluded the photo to be AI-generated (high confidence).
• Undetectable AI found the image is likely created by AI.

Based on the lack of authentic sources, visual anomalies, and consistent results from AI-detection tools, the viral image is confirmed to be AI-generated and not a real historical photograph.
