Old Image of ‘The Great Ethiopian Run’ Passed Off As AAP Supporters Marching For Kejriwal’s Release In Delhi

Claim

A massive rally is underway on the streets of Delhi, led by leaders and supporters of the Aam Aadmi Party, to voice their protest against the arrest of Arvind Kejriwal and to express support for him.

Fact

A reverse image search of the photo led us to an article published by CNN Travel on August 4, 2017, carrying a similar photo with the caption, ‘The annual Great Ethiopian Run in Addis Ababa is popular among tourists’.

The same image was carried by the MDG Achievement Fund website, with a caption that read, “Haile Gebreselassie kicks off the Great Ethiopian Run under the slogan “We Can End Poverty by 2015”.

After comparing the images, we found many similarities, like the flex board advertising the Samsung LCD TV, and similar multi-storey buildings etc. 

The Great Ethiopian Run Image 4

The same image was also published in a report by Mossyfoot.com, dated November 15, 2015, with the title, “Team Mossy Foot in the Great Ethiopian Run”.
