India-Pak Conflict: Old Video From Lebanon Viral As Massive Explosion In Islamabad

A Google Lens search on the keyframes of the viral clip led us to a report by The New York Times published on September 29, 2024. It featured a snippet from the now viral clip with the caption, “The moment an Israeli airstrike hit Choueifat, Lebanon, southeast of Beirut.” The same was credited to Associated Press (AP). 

We then looked up the keyphrase “Israeli airstrike hit Choueifat” on Google which yielded a report by the Associated Press, dated September 28, 2024. Carrying the same footage, it corroborated, “Video shows the moment Israeli strikes hit Choueifat, an area on the outskirts of Beirut, in the early hours of Saturday.”

Listing  details about the clip, the AP confirmed that the video was created on September 28, 2024, 6:04 AM at Choueifat, outskirts of Beirut, Lebanon.

Hence, we conclude that an old video of an Israeli attack on Lebanon has been falsely shared to show a massive explosion in Islamabad amid ongoing escalations between India and Pakistan.
