Viral Video Of Kiara Advani & Sidharth Malhotra Dancing Together Is Not From Their Wedding Festivities In Jaisalmer

Since the news of Kiara Advani’s wedding to Sidharth Malhotra in Jaisalmer surfaced last week, social media platforms have been buzzing with excitement over the news. While many took the opportunity to  congratulate the couple, others shared images and videos claiming to be from the wedding festivities. Now, a video showing Advani and Malhotra on the dance floor is being shared widely, with many claiming that it shows the actors grooving at their pre-wedding celebrations in Jaisalmer. Newschecker found that the video is not recent and is being shared out of context.

Instagram user Quick Khabar shared the video of the couple dancing to the tune of Bollywood song “Hookah bar” with the caption, “Kiara Advani and Sidharth Malhotra dancing and enjoying at their pre wedding party..”

Several Twitter users shared the video of the “bride-to-be,” and “groom-to-be” dancing together. Though the visuals were the same, the audio heard in these videos was different from the song in the clip shared by @quickkhabar on Instagram.

Fact Check/Verification

A keyword search for “Sidharth Malhotra,” “Kiara Advani” & “dancing” on YouTube led us to a video by Bollywood Infocus, dated February 10, 2020, carrying the visuals from the viral footage showing the actors grooving on the dance floor.This helped us conclude that the viral clip is not recent, and is nearly three years old.

Following this, we looked up “Sidharth Malhotra,” “Kiara Advani” & “dancing” on Google and set the time frame of the search from February 1, 2020 to February 29, 2020. The search yielded a video report by E Times, dated February 9, 2020, titled ‘Sidharth Malhotra and Kiara Advani burn the dance floor at Armaan Jain’s wedding.’

Displaying snippets from the viral video, the report elaborated, “Sidharth Malhotra and Kiara Advani maybe refraining from commenting on their relationship rumours, but the couple’s dance video from Armaan Jain’s wedding has left the rumour mills churning once again..While both actors arrived separately, their chemistry on the dance floor has surely left fans excited. “ 

Furthermore, the video was also posted by photographer Viral Bhayani on his Instagram account on February 8, 2020 with the caption, “#kiaraadvani and #siddharthmalhotra at #armaanjain wedding.”

Multiple other entertainment portals shared the viral video of Kiara Advani and Sidharth Malhotra dancing in February 2020. Such videos can be seen here, here and here.

Conclusion

An old video showing Kiara Advani and Sidharth Malhotra dancing at Armaan Jain’s reception is being shared to falsely show the Bollywood actors grooving during their wedding festivities.
