This week witnessed a wide spectrum of misinformation flooding the social media platforms. While Vivek Agnihotri’s tweet on The Kashmir Files winning the “Dadasaheb Phalke Awards 2023,” misled many, including news outlets, Bollywood actor Shah Rukh Khan once again became a target of misinformation, over his buffed up look in Pathaan. Did The Kashmir Files Win ‘Dadasaheb Phalke Awards 2023’? Here’s What We Found

Director Vivek Agnihotri recently announced that his movie, The Kashmir Files, had won “ the ‘Best Film’ award at #DadaSahebPhalkeAwards2023.” Newschecker found that his claim lacked context. Agnihotri’s The Kashmir Files did not win in the best category at the Dadasaheb Phalke Awards 2023, but at Dadasaheb Phalke International Film Festival Awards 2023. Read more here.

Fake China-Made Amul Butter In Circulation? Here’s The Truth Behind The Viral Video

A  video of a man detailing how to distinguish the fake China-made Amul butter from the original one by distinguishing their packaging design is going viral on social media platforms. Newschecker found  the claims made in the video to be fabricated and baseless. Amul itself clarified that both the packages seen in the footage are genuine and made in India by the cooperative. Viral Photos Of Campus Shoes With Tricolour-Printed Soles Are From 2021

Several social media users are circulating photos of shoes with the Indian tricolour marked on its soles, criticising the manufacturer ‘Campus Shoes’ for the design that violates the Indian Flag Code, 2002. Newschecker investigation revealed that old photos of Campus Shoes’ controversial tricolour-themed footwear, which was discontinued then, have gone viral again. Read more here.

Viral Image Of Shah Rukh Khan Using Bodysuit For Pathaan Is Edited

An image is being widely shared as the photographic evidence showing that actor Shah Rukh Khan used a bodysuit for his character in his recent movie Pathaan. Newschecker found that an old image of  Hollywood actor Chris Hemsworth donning a fat suit for Avengers: Endgame digitally manipulated to show Shah Rukh Khanfaking his look in Pathaan. Joe Biden Having Ice Cream In Kyiv? Edited Photograph Of US President Goes Viral After His Ukraine Visit

Following US President Joe Biden’s surprise visit to Ukraine, a picture purportedly showing POTUS having ice cream standing in front of a street food joint in Kyiv is going viral on social media platforms. Newschecker found that the viral image claiming to show US President Joe Biden having ice cream in Kyiv during his recent trip to Ukraine has been digitally edited. Read more here.
