A reverse image search on the keyframes of the viral clip led us to an Instagram post by Yashasvi Sharma (@yashasviexplorer), dated June 9, 2025. It featured the same video of the airhostesses entering the plane, confirming that it predates the Air India tragedy of June 12, 2025.
We skimmed through the comment section of the post, and found a remark by Sharma clarifying that she is “safe.”
“Thank you so much for reaching out – I’m safe and currently in Mumbai. I’m deeply shaken and heartbroken by what’s happened. It’s a very difficult time for us,” she commented.
We noticed that the profile has been sharing stories related to the recent aircraft crash in Ahmedabad. Sharma also called out an account sharing the viral clip in connection to the Air India mishap, asking users to “report” it and “do not spread fake news.”
A total of 12 crew members were killed after Air India flight AI-171 crashed shortly after take off from the Ahmedabad airport. These included the pilot and co-pilot of the plane, Sumeet Sabharwal and Clive Kunder, Saineeta Chakravarty, Deepak Pathak, Nganthoi Kongbrailatpam Sharma among others. The full list can be seen here.
Hence, we find that the viral post claiming to show the Air India flight attendant who was killed in the recent aircraft crash is false.
