A Google Lens search on the keyframes of the viral clip led us to a YouTube video by Sky News, dated March 26, 2022. Carrying a slightly shorter version of the same clip, it stated, “The Russian military have claimed it has launched missile strikes on Ukrainian military infrastructure from the Black Sea.”
Another report by The Sun from March 2022 also featured the same video, and corroborated that the Ministry of Defence, Russia claimed to have launched a missile attack on the Ukrainian Infrastructure from the Black Sea. The video was credited to the Russian Defence Ministry.
We then skimmed through the official Facebook page of the Ministry of Defense, Russia and found that the video was shared on March 26, 2022. “Russian Armed Forces have launched a precision-guided missile strike on Ukrainian military infrastructure. The crew of a small missile ship of the Black Sea Fleet has launched four Kalibr cruise missiles at military facilities of the Ukrainian Armed Forces from the Black Sea. As a result of an accurate hit, the high-precision weaponry destroyed weapons and military equipment depot on the territory of Zhitomir Region,” the accompanying caption read.
