Several social media users are sharing a video, claiming to show Trinamool Congress leader Mahua Moitra’s ouster from the Parliament last week after the Ethics Committee of the Lok Sabha found her guilty of jeopardising national security by sharing her parliamentary portal’s login credentials with businessman Darshan Hiranandani.

Fact Check
Newschecker ran a reverse image search of keyframes of the viral video, which led us to this India Today report, dated October 4, 2023, sharing the viral video. “Trinamool Congress leader Mahua Moitra was dragged by Delhi Police while she was staging a protest with other TMC leaders on Tuesday. The incident occurred inside the Krishi Bhawan in the national capital over the release of MNREGA funds,” read the report. Similar reports can be seen here and here.
The TMC leader had also shared the clip of her being forcibly lifted by police and being booted out of the protest site on October 3, 2023, confirming that the video is old video and is being shared out of context.
