Fact
On carefully analysing the video, we spotted a text stating “Happy April Fools Day!” on the top right corner of the screen at the counter of 0:31 seconds. We also noticed that the man lists unusual “benefits” for “platinum card holders” – such as meeting Cabinet Ministers or SBI branches providing services even during lunch time.
Around 1:18 minutes into the video, we spotted an alleged release of the scheme stating that it was “Posted on April Fools Day by LLA”, further indicating that the video was likely an April Fools prank.

We also noticed the watermark of “Labour Law Advisor” on the top left corner of the screen in the viral clip.
Taking a clue, we skimmed through the verified Instagram handle of @labourlawadvisor, and found that the video was shared on their page on April 1, 2025. The accompanying caption detailed the “provisions of the scheme,” and concluded stating, “There’s no link, because it’s 1st April. Happy April Fools Day #JagrukJanta”

Government’s PIB Fact Check also termed an article on “PM Kardata Kalyan Yojana” as “fake”. In an X post, dated April 5, 2025, the PIB Fact Check stated that an article “claims that the Government of India is offering rewards to honest taxpayers like travel discounts, Kar Miles and free internet data under a new scheme called ‘PM Kardata Kalyan Yojana.’ This claim is #Fake. There is NO such scheme as PM Kardata Kalyan Yojana.”
