A viral video shows protesters in Ladakh vandalising public property during the recent agitation for statehood.
The video is not from Ladakh. It captures a September 2025 Gen-Z protest in Chitwan, Nepal, where demonstrators stormed a district administration office.
At least four people were killed and several injured in Leh, Ladakh, after a protest demanding constitutional safeguards and statehood turned violent on September 24, 2025.
Amid this unrest, a video began circulating on social media, allegedly showing Ladakh protesters vandalising public property and occupying a government building. Newschecker’s investigation reveals the video is unrelated and actually from Nepal.
