Photo claiming to show Colonel Sofiya Qureshi with IPL teenage sensation Vaibhav Suryavanshi.

Fact

Newschecker noticed the difference in image clarity between Suryavanshi and Colonel Qureshi, indicating that the photo may be edited.

We then ran the image past FakeImageDetector.net, which gave it an authenticity score of 51%, while another tool, ImageEdited?, stated that it was probably edited.

We then ran a reverse image search, which led us to a similar photo, considering the background, showing Suryavanshi with former Indian cricketer Wasim Jaffer, dated March 24, 2024, and uploaded by Suryavanshi’s official Instagram handle. Also, the official account has no photo of Suryavanshi with Colonel Qureshi, further indicating that it was digitally altered.
