A Google Lens search on the keyframes of the viral clip led us to an X post by Syria-based @daraa_net_2020, dated March 18, 2025. Carrying the same video, it stated, “A fuel tanker exploded in Douma, Damascus countryside (translated from Arabic via Google).”
Using this information, we looked up keywords “Damascus,” and “fuel tank explosion” in Arabic on Google which led us to a Facebook post by Al Jazeera-Syria, dated March 18, 2025. It also featured a longer version of the video to show “A fuel tank exploded near the Misraba Bridge in the city of Douma in the Damascus countryside.”
Other outlets such as Sky News Arabia and SyriaTV also corroborated that the video shows a fuel tank explosion in Syria’s Douma.
Moreover, we did not find any credible reports on any such a blast at the Pakistan Army headquarters.
Hence, we find that a video from Syria has been falsely shared to claim a massive blast at Pakistan Army headquarters.
