Shah Rukh Khan says Mustafizur Rahman will play for KKR despite opposition and criticises industrialist Gautam Adani.
The video does not show Shah Rukh Khan making any statement about Mustafizur Rahman or Gautam Adani. The clip is from an 11-year-old public event, and the audio has been digitally manipulated using AI tools.
A video circulating on social media shows Bollywood actor and Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) co-owner Shah Rukh Khan allegedly defending Bangladeshi cricketer Mustafizur Rahman’s inclusion in KKR, while strongly criticising industrialist Gautam Adani and “Hindu-Muslim politics.”
In the clip, Shah Rukh Khan is purportedly heard saying that critics opposing Mustafizur Rahman should “stop barking,” while accusing Adani of betraying India by supplying electricity to Bangladesh, and insisting that Mustafizur will “definitely play for KKR.”
The video is being widely shared with captions suggesting it is a recent statement by Shah Rukh Khan amid the controversy surrounding Mustafizur Rahman’s removal from KKR.

To verify the authenticity of the clip, Newschecker conducted a reverse image search of keyframes from the viral video using Google Lens. This led to a video uploaded on October 2, 2014, on the official YouTube channel of Talks at Google. The footage shows Shah Rukh Khan participating in a fireside chat with Google CEO Sundar Pichai at the Googleplex in California. As per the video description, the interaction was part of a promotional event for Shah Rukh Khan’s film Happy New Year.
A review of the full video confirms that Shah Rukh Khan was wearing the same outfit seen in the viral clip and was accompanied by the cast of Happy New Year, including Deepika Padukone, Abhishek Bachchan, Boman Irani, and Farah Khan. During the conversation, Shah Rukh Khan spoke about his career, cinema, and creativity. There is no reference anywhere in the video to Mustafizur Rahman, KKR, Gautam Adani, or any political or communal issue.
A closer examination of the viral video reveals visible inconsistencies between Shah Rukh Khan’s lip movements and the spoken audio. The timing of his mouth movements and facial expressions does not align with the words being heard. Such discrepancies typically occur when an original video is altered by overlaying a new or manipulated audio track.
To further investigate the authenticity of the audio, We analysed the clip using AI detection tools. The Aurigin tool flagged the audio as 99% AI-generated.

An independent analysis using Resemble AI also identified the voice as synthetic and not matching Shah Rukh Khan’s real voice. These results confirm that the audio was artificially generated and added to the video.

We also checked Shah Rukh Khan’s verified social media accounts, including X, Instagram and Facebook. No posts or statements related to Mustafizur Rahman, Gautam Adani, or the KKR controversy were found, further disproving the claim.
