2025 Delhi Election: Kejriwal Urges Voters To Pick Congress? Viral Video Is Old And Clipped
A six-second video went viral on voting day for Delhi’s 70 Assembly seats on Wednesday (February 5), purportedly showing AAP convenor and former chief minister Arvind Kejriwal appealing to voters to vote for rival party Congress, instead of the BJP. Newschecker found the video to be clipped from a 2017 Facebook Live by Kejriwal, ahead of the Punjab polls then, saying that BJP and Akali Dal are urging people to switch their votes to the Congress.

Viral Image Shows Guatemala-Bound Deportees On US Plane, Not Indian Migrants
Several social media users shared a viral image, claiming to show Indian migrants being deported from the US. Newschecker found that the image was of a US Air Force jet at Texas with migrants bound at their wrists and ankles, set to be deported to Guatemala.

Union Budget 2025: Viral Photo Showing CEC With Nirmala Sitharaman Is From 2020 When He Was Finance Secretary
An image went viral, claiming to show Rajiv Kumar, chief election commissioner of India, with Union finance minister Nirmala Sitharaman and her team following Sitharaman unveiling her eighth consecutive Union budget on Saturday (February 1, 2025). Newschecker found the image to be from 2020, when Kumar was Finance Secretary.

Delhi Elections 2025: Fake India Today, ABP News Opinion Polls Go Viral
An ‘ABP News Opinion Poll’ went viral ahead of the Delhi Assembly elections, predicting a massive win for the BJP. Newschecker found the alleged opinion poll to be fake. Similarly, an India Today pre-poll survey predicting victory for the BJP was found to be fake too.

Job Scam Alert: Fake Govt Organisation Runs Ads Using Rural Development Ministry’s Name
An advertisement was recently published in the February 4 Greater Hyderabad edition of leading Telugu daily, Eenadu, claiming to be from the “National Rural Development and Recreation Mission (NRDRM)”, under the Ministry of Rural Development, Government of India. The advertisement invites online applications to 6,881 job vacancies under the mission for the state of Telangana. A ministry official clarified to Newschecker that there was no such organisation.
