An image of a toddler besmeared with ointment all over, is being widely shared on social media platforms claiming that the ‘3-year-old was doused with acid by Islamists in Bangladesh’. A Newschecker investigation has found the claim that a 3-year old was doused in acid in Bangladesh by ‘Islamists’, is not true. Viral Image Of Nandi Statue Is From Maharashtra, Not Kashi Vishwanath Temple

An image claiming to show a statue of Nandi, a sacred bull associated with Hindu Lord Shiva, at the Kashi Vishwanath Temple in Varanasi is going viral on social media platforms after the claims about finding a ‘Shivling’ inside Gyanvapi mosque went rife. Amid the torrential rainfall and flooding in Assam that has reportedly caused at least 9 deaths, a video of a family of three being washed away as they try to cross a bridge has gone viral claiming it to be a recent video recorded in Assam with some captions stating “Present Situation in North East India”. As torrential rainfall wreaked havoc in Assam, several social media users shared images and videos from the flood-hit state highlighting the severity of the situation and condition of its residents. One such 21-second-long-video claiming to show a bridge collapse in Assam amid massive flooding is doing the rounds on social media platforms.
