A set of two photographs allegedly showing Bollywood actors Kareena Kapoor and Sonakshi Sinha in Hijab has surfaced on social media platforms. Newschecker, however, found the images to be AI generated.
X user @SHATRUGHANAITC, “stan” account of the actor-politician, (his actual account is @ShatruganSinha) shared the images with Hindi caption, “Daughters look lovely in culture, why friends? Happy Ramadan.” Other social media users shared the images purportedly showing the actors donning Hijab.

Fact Check/Verification
The glossy texture and blurred background in both the images indicated that they were likely AI generated.
We then checked both the images on AI detection platforms which pointed out a high probability of the media being generated using Artificial Intelligence. Hive Moderation, for instance, concluded a 98% likelihood that Image 1 contains AI generated or deepfake content. It found a 92.1% probability of Image 2 containing AI generated or deepfake content.
Another tool Sightengine found 92% probability that Image 1 was a deepfake, and 99% likelihood that Image 2 was AI generated.
We also checked both the images, allegedly showing Kareena Kapoor and Sonakshi Sinha in Hijab, on WasItAI website which concluded, “We are quite confident that this image, or significant part of it, was created by AI.”

Conclusion
Hence, the viral photos claiming to show Kareena Kapoor and Sonakshi Sinha in Hijab were found to be AI generated.
