AI/Deepfake
Video of US President Donald Trump saying that Pakistan also warned Israel and the US because Israel mistakenly said Pakistan is number two after Iran.
No such statement by the US President. Video found to be manipulated using AI.
Israel executed a massive attack on the Iranian nuclear and military facilities on Friday (June 13, 2025), killing several of its top commanders and nuclear scientists, prompting large-scale retaliatory strikes.
As the conflict in the Middle East significantly escalated over the weekend, Pakistan extended its support to Iran. Pakistan’s defence minister, Khawaja Asif, reportedly said, “In this time of trial, we stand by Iran in every way. We will protect Iranian interests. Iranians are our brothers, and their grief and pain are shared.” He added that the Muslim countries unite against the “Israeli aggression.”
In this context a video, allegedly showing Israeli PM Benjamin Netanyahu warning Pakistan, is going viral. “The greatest mission is to prevent a militant Islamic regime from meeting up with nuclear weapons or from nuclear weapons meeting up with a militant Islamic regime. The first is called Iran, the second is called Pakistan,” Netanyahu is heard saying in the viral video.
“Because if these radical regimes have nuclear weapons, they will not obey the rules that have been obeyed in the last almost seven decades,” he is further heard saying.

But Newschecker’s investigation revealed that Netanyahu’s statements were at least a decade old and taken out of context and falsely linked to the recent escalation.

A Google Lens search on the viral clip of Netanyahu led us to a post by Israel-based YouTube channel @israelnews, dated March 31, 2011, featuring an interview of the Israeli PM. In the video, Netanyahu is seen in an identical attire and with similar background as seen in the viral footage.
Around 26 minutes into the interview, responding to a question about “biggest problem facing the next generation and what should we do to solve it today” the Israeli PM says, “I just said that the greatest mission that we have is to prevent a militant Islamic regime from meeting up with nuclear weapons or from nuclear weapons meeting up with a militant Islamic regime. The first is called Iran, the second is called Pakistan, or more specifically a Taliban takeover of Pakistan.”
“Because if these radical regimes have nuclear weapons, they will not obey the rules that have been obeyed in the last almost seven decades. And they can threaten our world. So the first thing is to stop them from getting nuclear weapons. That’s mission number one and mission number two is to find a substitute for oil. That would make our planet safe, that would make our planet clean,” he adds.
Notably, his comment “…or more specifically a Taliban takeover of Pakistan” has been clipped out of the viral clip.
The transcript of the full interview was also shared on the official website of the Israeli government in March 2011, and can be accessed here.
Hence, we find the claim to be missing context.
Soon after the above clip of Benjamin Netanyahu went viral, a purported video of US President Donald Trump allegedly terming “Israel calling Pakistan number two after Iran” a “mistake” surfaced online. Notably, the US is a key ally of Israel.
In the viral footage, Trump is allegedly heard saying, “Pakistan has also warned Israel and the US because Israel mistakenly said Pakistan is number two after Iran. Pakistan is fully alert with its air, land, and marine forces. Pakistan’s defense minister, Khawaja Asif, said if Israel attacks Iran again, Pakistan will totally destroy Israel’… what I say, Pakistan should not do that. Pakistan has no problem with us. Their army is already on very high alert. In my opinion, Pakistan should not get involved. This is Israel and Iran’s war. We need peace in the region. We need to stop the fighting, not get in the middle…”

A keyword search for “Trump,” “Pakistan,” “Israel” and “mistake” on Google did not yield any credible reports on the alleged statement by the US President.
On carefully analysing the viral clip, we noticed that Trump’s lip area appeared to be smudged/blurred indicating AI manipulation.
We then looked up a section of the video on AI detection tool Hive Moderation which found an overall 99.7% likelihood of the media containing AI generated or deepfake content.
Another AI audio detection tool Resemble.ai termed the voice heard in the viral clip as “fake.” We also checked multiple segments of the audio of Hiya Voice Deepfake Detector which concluded them to be “likely deepfake.”
We also checked the audio on Deepfake-O-Meter of the UB Media Forensics Lab, that analysed the voice on multiple detectors all of which found a very high probability of it being AI generated.
Further, we found a press conference of President Trump live streamed on the official YouTube channel of White House on May 30, 2025, showing him in the same attire and background as seen in the viral clip. However, the US President did not make any such statement on Pakistan during the presser.
A comparison between the viral clip and YouTube video can be seen below.

Hence, we find that the viral clip of US President Donald Trump saying that Pakistan has warned his country and Israel against attacking Iran has been manipulated using AI.
