A viral video claiming to show Shahrukh Khan’s son Aryan Khan urinating at an airport is doing the rounds on social media platforms. The viral post claims that ‘drug-addict’ Aryan Khan has no control over his urge to urinate and openly urinates in the airport lobby/passage. However, a fact check by Newschecker has found out that the claim made in the viral social media post is misleading and it does not show Aryan Khan urinating openly at the airport.
Newschecker also received the video on our WhatsApp tipline (+91 9999499044) requesting it to be fact checked.
Aryan Khan has been under the public radar since he was caught by the Narcotics Control Bureau in October last year during a raid at Cordelia cruise off Mumbai coast. He is currently out on bail. Khan was taken into custody by the NCB on October 3, 2021 after the raid on the cruise. Khan was granted bail on October 28, 2021 after being denied twice.
According to a report by the Hindu, dated October 3, 2021, “Actor Shah Rukh Khan’s son, Aryan, and three others were arrested by the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) on October 3 afternoon after hours of interrogation following a drug bust on board a cruise ship off the Mumbai coast. Five others were also detained for questioning.”
According to a report by NDTV, “Aryan Khan’s lawyer Mukul Rohatgi, former Attorney General of India, had argued in court that no drugs were found on him and that the grounds for his arrest were flimsy. The NCB, however, claimed he was part of a conspiracy and that his WhatsApp chats revealed his involvement in illicit drug dealings. “ Aryan Khan had declared himself innocent while filing the bail application.
The viral video is being shared in lines with the same high-profile drugs case. We found some posts with the same claim about ‘drug addict’ Aryan Khan urinating openly at the airport on Twitter as well.
Fact Check/Verification:
To verify the veracity of the viral video claiming to show Aryan Khan urinating in the airport, the Newschecker team conducted a keyframe search of the video on Google. We found that the video is from 2012 and shows Twilight actor Bronson Pelletier getting arrested for urinating openly at the airport.
According to a report by Local Eyes, dated January 6, 2013, “Bronson Pelletier, who played the werewolf Jared in Twilight, was stiff when he was at the Los Angeles airport on Dec. 18. Completely unmotivated, he suddenly pulls his penis out of his pants and starts urinating on the floor in front of all his fellow passengers.” The report also features the viral video claiming to show Aryan Khan urinating at the airport.
We looked up ‘Twilight Star Bronson Pelletier caught Urinating at Los Angeles International Airport’ on YouTube and found the video being shared with the claim that Aryan Khan urinated openly at the airport on social media platforms and messaging apps.
Newschecker team did a keyword search for ‘Bronson Pelletier Los Angeles Airport’ on Twitter and also found several tweets regarding the same incident from December 2012.
Conclusion:
The viral video claiming to show Shahrukh Khan’s son Aryan Khan urinating openly at the airport is misleading. The video dates back to 2012 and shows Twilight actor Bronson Pelletier urinating at the Los Angeles airport and was arrested for the same.
