Fact Check
For this week’s wrap, where Newschecker rounds up key fact checks, we found a video of children and women emerging out of truck being shared with misleading claims related to human trafficking, how images of California’s Tom Lantos Tunnels was shared as Atal Tunnel in Rohtang, HP, and how misleading claims related to India-China dispute don’t see an end.

Our research concludes that the video in context is not related to human or child trafficking. It shows Islamic State-linked women and children, residents of the Al-Hol camp in Syria, being smuggled out.

The claim by Twitter account, Zhong Xin, that the People’s Liberation Army shot down an Indian Fighter Jet Sukhoi su–30 In Tibet is false. The Press Information Bureau clarified that the claim is fake and no such incident has taken place.

The tunnel’s image shared by Adesh Gupta & a few media outlets is in fact of the Tom Lantos Tunnels at Devil’s Slide near San Francisco, California.

The fictitious money was publicly displayed in Boca Maldita in Curitiba, Brazil as part of promotions for the film Polícia Federal: a Lei é Para Todos.
