Fact : એક ભ્રામક ટ્વીટર પોસ્ટ પરથી અમર્ત્ય સેનના મૃત્યુની અફવા ફેલાવવામાં આવી હતી.
જાણીતા અર્થશાસ્ત્રી અમર્ત્ય સેનનું નિધન થયું હોવાના દાવાએ ખુબ જોર પકડ્યું છે. સંદેશ ન્યુઝ, મિડડે , ડેક્કન હેરાલ્ડ , ફર્સ્ટપોસ્ટ જેવા અન્ય પ્રકાશનો દ્વારા પણ આ દાવો પ્રકાશિત કરવામાં આવ્યો હતો. જો..કે ન્યૂઝચેકરની તપાસમાં આ દાવો ભ્રામક હોવાનું સાબિત થયું છે.

જાણીતા અર્થશાસ્ત્રી અમર્ત્ય સેનનું નિધન થયું હોવાનો દાવો ટ્વીટર પર નોબેલ પારિતોષિક વિજેતા ક્લાઉડિયા ગોલ્ડિન દ્વારા કરવામાં આવ્યો હતો. આ ટ્વીટના જવાબમાં પત્રકાર સીમા ચિસ્તીની એક ટ્વીટ મળી આવે છે, જ્યાં તેઓ આ સમાચાર તદ્દન ભ્રામક અને પાયાવિહોણા હોવાનું જણાવે છે.
વાયરલ ટ્વીટ પર તપાસ કરતા જાણવા મળે છે કે નોબેલ પારિતોષિક વિજેતા ક્લાઉડિયા ગોલ્ડિનના નામે એક ભ્રામક ટ્વીટર એકાઉન્ટ પરથી અમર્ત્ય સેનનું નિધન થયું હોવાની ખોટી માહિતી પોસ્ટ કરવામાં આવી હતી. આ અંગે પ્રિન્સટન યુનિવર્સિટી પ્રેસ દ્વારા કરવામાં આવેલ ટ્વીટ સાથે ક્લાઉડિયા ગોલ્ડિનના એકાઉન્ટને ટેગ કરવામાં આવેલ છે.
અમર્ત્ય સેનના નિધન અંગે અમે વધુ તપાસ કરતા પ્રતિચી ટ્રસ્ટનો સંપર્ક કર્યો જ્યાં અમર્ત્ય સેન અને તેમની પુત્રી અંતરા સેન ટ્રસ્ટી તરીકે સેવા આપે છે. ટ્રસ્ટના એડમિનિસ્ટ્રેટિવ ઓફિસર સૌમિક મુખર્જીએ જણાવ્યું કે, “મેં યુએસમાં રહેતા પ્રોફેસર સેનની મોટી પુત્રી સાથે વાત કરી, તેમણે પુષ્ટિ કરી કે મૃત્યુના સમાચાર ખોટા છે અને પ્રોફેસર સેન બિલકુલ સહી સલામત છે.”
તેમની પુત્રી નંદના સેને પણ અફવાઓને ધ્યાને લઈને સોશિયલ મીડિયા પર ટ્વીટ કરી હતી, તેઓએ જણાવ્યું કે “મિત્રો, તમારી ચિંતા બદલ આભાર પરંતુ તે નકલી સમાચાર છે, બાબા બિલકુલ ઠીક છે. અમે હમણાં જ કેમ્બ્રિજમાં પરિવાર સાથે એક અદ્ભુત અઠવાડિયું વિતાવ્યું – ગત રાત્રે જ્યારે અમે તેમને અલવિદા કહ્યું ત્યારે તેમનું આલિંગન હંમેશની જેમ જ મજબૂત હતું! તે હાર્વર્ડમાં અઠવાડિયે 2 અભ્યાસક્રમો ભણાવી રહ્યા છે.”
