सोशल मीडिया पर एक वीडियो शेयर कर दावा किया जा रहा है कि सोमालिया से आए 500 टन केलों में हेलिकोबैक्टर नामक एक जानलेवा कीड़ा पाया गया है.

Fact

सोमालिया से आए 500 टन केलों में हेलिकोबैक्टर नामक एक जानलेवा कीड़ा पाए जाने के नाम पर शेयर किया जा रहा यह दावा पूर्व में भी वायरल हो चुका है, जिसके बाद Newschecker द्वारा 3 नवंबर, 2021 को इस दावे की पड़ताल की गई थी. हमारी पड़ताल के अनुसार, Khaleej Times ने 1 नवंबर, 2021 को प्रकाशित अपनी रिपोर्ट में यह जानकारी दी थी कि UAE में भी यह वीडियो काफी वायरल हुआ था. जिसके बाद Abu Dhabi Agriculture and Food Safety Authority ने वायरल दावे को गलत बताते हुए स्पष्टीकरण जारी किया था.

कैंसरजनक बीमारियों को लेकर रिसर्च कर रहे Riyadh के Dr. Fahad Alkhodairy ने भी इस दावे को फर्जी बताया था.

वायरल दावे को लेकर अधिक जानकारी के लिए हमने Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI) के अधिकारियों से बातचीत की. जहां हमें यह जानकारी दी गई कि वायरल दावे में कई खामियां हैं. मसलन हेलिकोबैक्टर एक बैक्टीरिया है, ना कि कोई कीड़ा. भारत में व्यापक पैमाने पर केले का उत्पादन होता है, इस वजह से केले आयातित करने की यह बात सही नहीं है.

Newschecker और FSSAI के अधिकारियों के बीच हुई बातचीत

कृषि मंत्रालय, भारत सरकार तथा United Nations Conference on Trade and Development के संक्युत उपक्रम Agricultural and Processed Food Products Export Development Authority (APEDA) Agri Agri Exchange पोर्टल पर उपलब्ध जानकारी के अनुसार भारत में वर्ष 2021-22 में कुल 32,454.11 टन केले का उत्पादन हुआ है. गौरतलब है कि भारत में एक वर्ष में उत्पादित कुल केला (32,454.11 टन) वायरल दावे में बताए गए आंकड़े (500 टन) से कहीं ज्यादा है.

Statista पर मौजूद जानकारी के अनुसार वित्तीय वर्ष 2016 से वित्तीय वर्ष 2021 के बीच केले के निर्यात से अर्जित धन में दोगुने से भी अधिक की वृद्धि हुई है.

इस प्रकार हमारी पड़ताल में यह बात साफ हो जाती है कि सोमालिया से आए 500 टन केलों में हेलिकोबैक्टर नामक एक जानलेवा कीड़ा पाए जाने के नाम पर शेयर किया जा रहा यह दावा भ्रामक है. असल में भारत में केले का उत्पादन बहुत ही व्यापक पैमाने पर होता है इसी वजह से देश में पैदा हुए अधिकांश केले को निर्यात कर दिया जाता है.
