31 मार्च 2024 नंतर 100 रुपयांच्या जुन्या नोटा बंद करण्यात येणार असल्याचे सांगून शेअर केल्या जाणाऱ्या या दाव्याची Newschecker ने इंग्रजी भाषेत तथ्य तपासणी केली आहे. आमच्या तपासादरम्यान, आम्हाला व्हायरल दाव्याला पुष्टी देणारा कोणताही मीडिया रिपोर्ट सापडला नाही. तथापि, आम्हाला जानेवारी 2021 मध्ये प्रकाशित असे अनेक मीडिया रिपोर्ट्स (1, 2, 3) प्राप्त झाले, ज्यामध्ये RBI ने म्हंटले आहे की जुन्या 100 च्या नोटा बंद केल्या जाणार नाहीत आणि नवीन नोटांप्रमाणे चलनात राहतील. या संदर्भात RBI ने 25 जानेवारी 2021 रोजी शेअर केलेल्या ट्विटमध्ये देखील माहिती दिली होती की चलनात असलेल्या 5, 10 आणि 100 रुपयांच्या जुन्या नोटा बंद होणार नाहीत.

याशिवाय, RBI वेबसाइटवर सध्या चलनात असलेल्या कायदेशीर टेंडर नोटांची यादी पाहिल्यानंतर, आम्हाला आढळले की 100 रुपयांच्या जुन्या नोटा अजूनही कायदेशीर निविदा म्हणून चलनात आहेत.
आरबीआयच्या वेबसाइटच्या नोटिफिकेशन विभागातही आम्हाला जुन्या 100 रुपयांच्या नोटा बंद करण्यासंबंधी कोणतीही माहिती आढळली नाही.
अशाप्रकारे, आमच्या तपासणीत हे स्पष्ट झाले आहे की 31 मार्च 2024 नंतर 100 रुपयांच्या जुन्या नोटा बंद केल्या जाणार असल्याचे सांगून शेअर करण्यात आलेला हा दावा दिशाभूल करणारा आहे. वास्तविक आरबीआयने अशी कोणतीही घोषणा केलेली नाही.
