त्यौहारों के मौसम में डूबे भारतीयों को दिवाली के दिन तब एक और खुशी मिल गई जब ब्रिटेन के प्रधानमंत्री पद के लिए भारतीय मूल के ऋषि सुनक के नाम की घोषणा हुई. इसके साथ ही ऋषि सुनक की धार्मिक मान्यता की भी जमकर चर्चा हो रही है. इसी क्रम में सोशल मीडिया यूजर्स ने एक तस्वीर शेयर कर यह दावा किया कि ऋषि सुनक ने प्रधानमंत्री बनने की घोषणा के बाद ब्रिटेन की संसद के दरवाजे पर दीप जलाया. वायरल तस्वीर की पड़ताल के लिए हमने इसे गूगल पर ढूंढा. इस प्रक्रिया में हमें यह जानकारी मिली कि यह तस्वीर साल 2020 की है.
The Guardian द्वारा 13 नवंबर, 2020 को प्रकाशित एक लेख के अनुसार तत्कालीन चांसलर (Chancellor of the Exchequer) ने अपने सरकारी आवास 11 Downing Street पर दीप जलाते हुए ब्रिटेन के साथी हिन्दुओं से नियमानुसार दिवाली मनाने की अपील की थी.
उपरोक्त लेख में प्रकाशित जानकारी के आधार पर हमने कुछ अन्य कीवर्ड्स को गूगल पर ढूंढा जहां हमें ऋषि सुनक द्वारा 14 नवंबर, 2020 को शेयर किया गया एक ट्वीट प्राप्त हुआ, जिसमे उन्होंने 11 Downing Street पर रंगोली लगाकर दिवाली मनाने की बात कही थी.
बता दें कि Getty Images ने वायरल तस्वीर को ऋषि सुनक द्वारा 12 नवंबर, 2020 को Downing Street पर दिया जलाने का बताया है.
इस प्रकार हमारी पड़ताल में यह बात साफ हो जाती है कि ऋषि सुनक द्वारा प्रधानमंत्री बनने की घोषणा के बाद ब्रिटेन की संसद के दरवाजे पर दीप जलाने के नाम पर शेयर किया जा रहा यह दावा भ्रामक है. वायरल तस्वीर साल 2020 के नवंबर माह से ही इंटरनेट पर मौजूद है.
