सोशल मीडिया यूजर्स यह दावा कर रहे हैं कि 31 मार्च 2024 के बाद 100 रुपये के पुराने नोट बंद हो जाएंगे.

31 मार्च 2024 के बाद 100 रुपये के पुराने नोट बंद हो जाने के नाम पर शेयर किए जा रहे इस दावे की पड़ताल Newschecker द्वारा अंग्रेजी भाषा में की जा चुकी है. अपनी पड़ताल के दौरान हमें ऐसी कोई मीडिया रिपोर्ट नहीं मिली, जिससे वायरल दावे की पुष्टि की जा सके. हालांकि हमें साल जनवरी 2021 को प्रकाशित कई ऐसी मीडिया रिपोर्ट्स (1, 2, 3) प्राप्त हुईं, जिनमें RBI के हवाले से यह जानकारी दी गई है कि 100 रुपये के पुराने नोट बंद नहीं होंगे तथा नए नोटों की ही तरह चलन में रहेंगे. RBI ने इस संबंध में 25 जनवरी 2021 को शेयर किए गए एक ट्वीट में भी यह जानकारी दी थी कि प्रचलन में मौजूद 5, 10 और 100 रुपये के पुराने नोट बंद नहीं होंगे.
RBI ने साल जुलाई 2018 में ‘रानी की वाव’ के साथ छपे 100 रुपये के नए नोटों को जारी करते वक्त एक प्रेस रिलीज़ में यह जानकारी दी थी कि 100 रुपये के सभी पुराने नोट वैध मुद्रा के तौर पर प्रचलन में रहेंगे.
इसके अतिरिक्त RBI की वेबसाइट पर वर्तमान समय में चलन में रहने वाले वैध नोटों की सूची देखने पर हमने पाया कि 100 रुपये के पुराने नोट अभी भी वैध मुद्रा के तौर पर प्रचलन में हैं.
बता दें कि RBI की वेबसाइट पर मौजूद नोटिफिकेशन सेक्शन में भी हमें 100 रुपये के पुराने नोटों को बंद करने से संबंधित कोई सूचना नहीं मिली.
इस प्रकार हमारी पड़ताल में यह बात साफ हो जाती है कि 31 मार्च 2024 के बाद 100 रुपये के पुराने नोट बंद हो जाने के नाम पर शेयर किया जा रहा यह दावा भ्रामक है. असल में RBI ने ऐसी कोई घोषणा नहीं की है.
