कार्बन डेटिंगच्या अहवालानुसार काशी विश्वनाथ शिवलिंग 8 हजार वर्षे जुने आहे.

वाराणसी येथील ज्ञानवापी मशिदीचे प्रकरण न्यायालयात आहे. या प्रकरणाबाबत अलाहाबाद उच्च न्यायालयाने मशिदीच्या परिसरात कार्बन डेटिंगला परवानगी दिली होती, परंतु मीडिया रिपोर्ट्सनुसार, सर्वोच्च न्यायालयाने पुढील सुनावणीपर्यंत निर्णयाला स्थगिती दिली. दरम्यान, हा दावा व्हायरल होत आहे.
दाव्याची सत्यता जाणून घेण्यासाठी आम्ही काही कीवर्डच्या मदतीने गुगल सर्च केले. आम्हाला 21 जुलै 2023 रोजी ‘इकॉनॉमिक टाइम्स’च्या वेबसाइटवर प्रकाशित झालेला रिपोर्ट सापडला. त्यानुसार वाराणसी न्यायालयाने शुक्रवारी काशी विश्वनाथ संकुलाचे सर्वेक्षण करण्याचे आदेश दिले आहेत. ज्यामध्ये वजू टैंक वगळता ज्ञानवापी मशीद परिसरात ASI सर्वेक्षण करण्याची परवानगी देण्यात आली आहे.
तसेच, ‘एएनआय’ या वृत्तसंस्थेच्या अधिकृत ट्विटर हँडलवरून 21 जुलै 2023 रोजीचे ट्विट आढळले. यामध्ये ज्ञानवापी खटल्यातील हिंदू बाजूचे वकील सुभाष नंद चतुर्वेदी यांनी माध्यमांना दिलेला बाईट आहे. त्यात त्यांनी म्हटले आहे की, “जिल्हा न्यायालयाने वैज्ञानिक सर्वेक्षण करण्याचे आदेश दिले आहेत. आता एएसआय ही रचना किती जुनी आहे ते तपासेल आणि किती जुनी आहे ते सांगेल. हे मंदिर आहे की मशीद? ते संपूर्ण तपास करतील.” त्यांना कार्बन डेटिंगबाबतही विचारणा करण्यात आली, त्यावर सुभाष चतुर्वेदी म्हणाले की, “हा कार्बन डेटिंगचा विषय नाही, केवळ वैज्ञानिक पद्धतीने तपासाचा विषय आहे.” याशिवाय, आम्हाला असा कोणताही अस्सल अहवाल सापडला नाही, ज्यामध्ये ‘शिवलिंग’ची कार्बन डेटिंग पूर्ण झाली असल्याचे म्हटले आहे.
तपासादरम्यान, आम्ही ज्ञानवापी मशिदीची देखभाल करणारी संस्था अंजुमन इंतेजामिया मस्जिदचे संयुक्त सचिव सय्यद मोहम्मद यासीन यांच्याशी संपर्क साधला. त्यांनी हा दावा फेटाळून लावला आहे. त्यांनी सांगितले की, कॅम्पसमध्ये फक्त सर्वेक्षण करण्याची परवानगी देण्यात आली असून त्याचा अहवाल येणे बाकी आहे.
याशिवाय शेकडो वर्षांपासून काशी विश्वनाथ मंदिरात प्रार्थना करणाऱ्या व्यास कुटुंबातील शैलेंद्रकुमार पाठक व्यास यांच्याशीही आम्ही संपर्क साधला. त्यांनी आम्हाला सांगितले, “कार्बन डेटिंग अद्याप सुरू झाले नाहीत, त्यामुळे त्याचे अहवाल आले असे म्हणणे म्हणजे निराधार आहे.”
एकूणच, काशी विश्वनाथ मंदिरातील शिवलिंगाचे वय आणि कार्बन डेटिंगबाबत सोशल मीडियावर दिशाभूल करणारे दावे शेअर करण्यात आले आहेत.
